Welcome to the website for the Barber Coin Collectors' Society (BCCS).
The BCCS is a group of coin collectors that are interested in the coins designed by
Charles E. Barber, Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint from 1880 to 1917. He is best
known for his Liberty Head designs on the dime, quarter, and half, as well as the
popular Liberty Head (or "V") nickel.
The purpose of this site is to provide valuable information and knowledge about Barber coins,
details about the Society, and to make it easy for you to participate. Please explore the site,
meet with us at major coin shows, and accept our invitation to join.

Good attendance at our Winter meeting at FUN
We had our Winter BCCS meeting at FUN in January. 16 collectors attended the meeting, including 13 members and 3 guests.
We discussed a number of topics, including the past Census and Rarity Surveys, and the prospect for conducting future studies on varieties.
We decided to pursue one Variety census per year, beginning next year, most likely starting with the Quarters. Stay tuned.
Other topics included planning for the ANA convention in Boston, having a club table, and a possible future issue of a BCCS token. A populaton report
"Over-Under" game was followed by Show and Tell. Some neat coins were brought by members, including a MS 1898-O quarter with beautiful toning, a
1914-S quarter in AU58, an original AU 1909-O quarter. High-grade 1895 dime, and a couple of nice original AU Barber Halves were also passed around.
Reports from the show floor was that nice Barbers were hard to find. See you in Boston!
